Ray and Charles Eames for Vitra Aluminium lounge chair |
Wellingtonians (and yes, the rest of you), here is a great up-coming auction that is worth taking note of.
Auction house,
Dunbar Sloane and leading New Zealand supplier of European mid-century furniture,
Karakter have joined forces to hold Wellington's first ever auction that focusses solely on mid-century and modern design. There are some quality original pieces available and the designers range from Ray and Charles Eames, Ludwig Mies van der Rohe through to Hans J Wegner and Poul Henningsen. I took the liberty to have a browse through and pulled the ones that are featured here - however, there is a wide and varied range to suit all fans of mid-century and modern design.
Viewing of these classic pieces start from Friday 5th September at
Dunbar Sloane Wellington and the auction will take place on Tuesday 9th September at 6pm. Find out more about the auction and the pieces that will be available
